How to take a any exam in Freelancer.com for absolutely free of charge. So here we go.
If you are a already signed up member at freelancer.com then you should surely know the importance of different types of exams there and getting pass results on them. If you are not, let me explain about them.
When you doing freelancing, it's all about showing your skills to your client, employer and getting the projects on your hand. So its a great way to showcase your skills by passing Exams. and when you have passed any exams, they are visible on your Freelancer Profile and easily visible to employers. So you'll have better chance of winning projects. On the other hand, there are some projects with required requirement with specific exams, as a example some projects may required "US English Level 1" passed before bidding on that project.
Check this below picture. It shows how's passed exams are visible to others.
Now, If you look closely, this is how details pops up , when mouse over on any profile which is bid on a project. So this selected guy has pretty good standing there, He has passed US English Level, HTML Level 1, PHP Level 1, Wordpress and Freelancer Orientation exams as well. So I would say, he has pretty much good chance of winning the project, if he come up with good budget, and with a good proposal.
If you already know about these stuff, my apologies, but I'm thinking its always good to explain to newbies about how's things done, and importance of them. so now, lets get to know about Exam Fees!
Freelancer Orientation - FREE
Employer Orientation - FREE
Level 1 Exams or any exams available at start (eg: US English Level 1 ) -
$5.00
Level 2 Exams ( eg: US English - Level 2 )-
$10.00
(note that the Level 2 exams are only visible after you passed level 1 exams. )
So, for a Freelancer, $5 per exam means bit high cost. at least for freelancer who are starting up. As well as there is a risk of failing at exam after taking the exam, and loosing $5. So its a big risk. If you have enough money, no worries, please go ahead, and buy exams. :) and..others please follow up with me.
Do you know that Freelancer.com have introduced a
Reward System? They are giving
credits for each and every activities which we doing on the site.
You can find it - Profile --> My Rewards
and, this is how it look , when you head over to Reward section.
Now, above screenshot is from bit advanced, active user from freelancer. he has around 10,000 credits. Did you noticed the "Recent Achievements" section. There it shows, how these credits was earned, and how many credits per each completed objectives.
and Fun part is, You can spend these earned credits for various things. Specially for buying exams.
Go to -- Credits Shop Tab , in the Reward page.
and, Scroll down bit and then you will be able to find this section.
" Take your next Level 1 Exam for free. Credits 400 "
You need only 400 Credits for Buy your first Level 1 Exam.
Pretty cool right? :)
and, thats for FREE,
you just have to be active on freelancer, complete some objectives and you can earn these credits.
some activities,you can do to increase credits.
- Go to your profile, and complete the profile details,
- Bid on some projects,
- Invite some friends
- if you can win some projects, having incoming milestones, releasing milestones will give you Credits too.
By the way If you wondering, why I've around 10,000 credits and but not have spent them, I'm just saving them to get a Face time with CEO. . just kidding.. ha.ha..
